Dual booting operating systems on mobile devices can be an exciting experience, and although Windows 8 usually restricted to tablets vetted officially by Microsoft, it doesn't always have to be this way. The folks of XDA-Developers have found a way to dual boot Android and Windows 8 on the Acer Iconia W700, and although it's by no means a seamless experience, it does offer a little variation to those of a very tech-orientated nature.

When it comes to marketing a product, it's fair to say that Samsung likes to break the mold. We've already encountered the rather cringe worthy Samsung Style ad (a play on the popular Gangnam Style from Korean rapper Psy), and now, the company has come through with another rather strange ploy in advertising its flagship Galaxy S4. Featuring a bunch of guys performing pop-like synchronized dance moves in balaclavas, it plays over a dubstep tune and ends with a goat sat in the middle of a mountainous area. Strange? We certainly think so.
Here's how to download and install Galaxy Camera's camera app on Galaxy S4. More details can be found right after the jump!
As many of you will know, I recently broke the habit of a lifetime by switching from iPhone to Android - or specifically, the HTC One - as my daily runner. Although I’d had plenty of interaction with Google’s mobile OS under my belt prior to picking up the One, I hadn’t used a Droid for any substantial length of time, so the experience has certainly been new to me in that respect. I’ve heard from many of you who’ve noted of your apprehension about making the switch because you’ve become so accustomed to using iOS and the Apple ecosystem, so I’ve thrown together a little manual for anybody making the leap.
Android may have advanced in the past couple of years to offer a level of user experience comparable to the slickness of iOS, but thanks in part to its open source nature, the levels of malicious software and security holes have been a cause for great concern. Now, researchers have found yet another security vulnerability allowing an unscrupulous individual to potentially take full control of your control of your Android smartphone.
Looking ahead towards the next generation Xbox One, Microsoft is planning a new reputation system for gamers on Xbox LIVE, which will ensure serious gamers can play other hardcore enthusiasts, while those whimsical, genial folk looking for a bit of lighthearted enjoyment will be able to. Essentially, the three tier system will enable the pros to do serious battle, while also offering the noobs a little respite to, well, be noobs, and will ensure a more balanced gaming experience for all involved.
Moviefone has just dropped a rather interesting new poster for the Steve Jobs-based movie starring Ashton Kutcher. Jobs, which is set to release worldwide on 16th of August, is greatly anticipated within tech circles, and never shy of a tagline or slogan himself, this poster of very first flick telling the story of the great man features one of its own. "Some see what's possible, others change what's possible" appears to be the take-home message from this most colorful of posters, which sees Kutcher made up as a very passable double to the late, great Apple co-founder.
iOS 7's design has been a polarizing topic in the tech industry over the past three weeks, but with iOS 7 beta 2 having dropped nine days ago to a much warmer reception, it would seem as though the tech world is growing used to some of the big changes Apple has made. The home screen icons have, along with several native apps, been completely redesigned as part of a 'flatter' approach, and the Music app has perhaps saw the biggest changes of them all. But if you're not in a position to try iOS 7 beta out for yourself just yet, you may wish to check out a third-party offering by the name of Musi, offers a flavor of the official iOS 7 Music app in terms of design cues.
Facebook Messenger for iOS and Android have long since supported the use of Stickers, and as of today, those using the Web version of the integrated instant messaging system should have no problem accentuating their text with one of those annoying, yet also rather endearing little faces. Although Stickers aren't something everybody is going to use, they do offer a little bit of fun and harmless immaturity, and having been successfully trialed on the two major mobile operating systems, Zuck and his team has rolled the feature out across the board.
Opera 15 has just been released for PC and Mac, featuring an all-new design and a myriad of new features, including the Discover catch-up menu and Speed Dial, which, as the name implies, allows you to quickly find all of your Internet amenities. There's also a brand-new download manager, and although Opera has been lacking in many departments in the past, the new WebKit-based effort appears to have stepped things up a notch or two.
