Apple is already planning which devices will be supported when iOS 15 ships next year and according to a new report it’s likely that a couple of popular devices are going to be left out in the cold.
A new report by The Verifier has Apple getting ready to ditch the iPhone 6s and original iPhone SE from support when iOS 15 ships in September of 2021.
This is also the same outlet that correctly reported that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 would be left out when iOS 12 was released. Further, The Verifier confirmed that iOS 13 would not remove support for any devices, too.
With that in mind, the following is likely to be the supported device list for iOS 15 next year.

- iPhone 12
- iPhone 12 mini
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max

- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone SE (2nd generation)
- iPod touch (7th generation)
Apple first released the iPhone 6s in September 2015 while the iPhone SE launched the following year in March of 2016. That means that the two iPhones will be at least five years old by the time support is dropped for iOS 15 if this report turns out to be accurate. We have little reason to believe that it isn’t at this point, too.
