Apple Music Is Getting Animated Album Art On iOS 14.3 And macOS Big Sur 11.1

Apple Music is set to get a new feature that brings animated artwork to the app on both iOS 14.3 and macOS 11.1 after the release candidates for both updates were released to developers.

Some albums currently have the feature available already, while others will presumably be following suit.

People could already enjoy animated artwork on features playlists, but the new feature is now expanding that to standard albums, according to 9to5Mac.

According to a 9to5Mac reader, Apple is experimenting with animated album artwork on Apple Music with iOS 14.3 and macOS Big Sur 11.1, which is currently only available to developers and beta testers. We were able to confirm that there are already some albums with animated artwork and that these are exclusive to iOS 14.3 and macOS Big Sur 11.1.

Pearl Jam’s Gigaton and Big Sean’s Detroit 2 are two examples that can be tested by people who already have the release candidates of iOS 14.3 and macOS 11.1 installed – and they’re pretty sweet. There’s no telling quite how the animated albums come together or which albums will be getting animated artwork in the future.

We’re expecting Apple to make iOS 14.3 and macOS 11.1 available to the public within the next few days, too.
