Apple has just launched the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, their latest wireless earbuds made for fitness lovers. The new model comes with a fresh design and some impressive upgrades.
The earbuds now look sleeker and sportier, with a rubberized body and a lightweight nickel-titanium earhook frame. They’re 20% lighter than before, and Apple claims they’re their best-fitting earbuds yet. Even the case is 33% smaller and supports wireless charging. Plus, they’re sweat and water-resistant with an IPX4 rating.
A standout feature is the built-in heart rate monitor. Each earbud has sensors that track blood flow in real time. You can connect this data to fitness apps or Apple’s Health app.
Sound quality has also improved with custom dual-layer transducers and an updated amplifier for clearer audio. The Powerbeats Pro 2 offers noise cancelation, transparency mode, and spatial audio with head tracking. Adaptive EQ adjusts the sound based on how the earbuds fit your ears.
Powered by Apple’s H2 chip (like the AirPods Pro 2), these earbuds promise low-latency audio for Apple Vision Pro users.
Battery life is solid at 8 hours per charge (36 with the case) using noise cancelation, or 10 hours (45 with the case) without it.
Priced at $249.99, the Powerbeats Pro 2 comes in Jet Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple, and Electric Orange. They hit shelves on February 13.
