Apple And MKBHD Show How iPhones Help Build Pet Prosthetics

Apple has today released a new promotional video that features pets with prosthetics and now an MKBHD video has also taken a look at how an iPhone 14 Pro camera can be used to help make custom prosthetics for animals.

The video takes a look at 3D Pets, a company that 3D prints full-limb prosthetics as well as custom carts that can help pets with missing limbs get around again.

The company uses the iPhone 14 Pro’s LiDAR scanner to accurately capture the dimensions of an animal to allow it to create a prosthetic that correctly fits and can do its job properly.

The MKBHD video goes behind the scenes to take a look at how this all works, and it’s a fascinating look at how a camera designed to help the iPhone take better photos can then be sued to do something entirely different. The LiDAR scanner is also present on the iPad Pro as well, and it’s proven to be popular for use in augmented reality applications and when gaming.

You can watch both the MKBHD P3D Pets video and the new Essentials promotional video from Apple and both of them are on YouTube. We’d suggest that you watch Apple’s video first and then check out MKBHD’s video to see how everything comes together.
