Europeans thinking about picking up a new Tesla Model Y have a new option to consider. Tesla has announced a new Model Y Performance option.
The updated model has a list price of €61,990 in Germany, but as Electrive reports, that isn’t the price buyers will pay. Almost another $1,000 of destination and regulatory fees will be added to that.

Buyers in the UK can expect to pay £61,990, while those in the Netherlands will hand over €62,990 – €20 more than their German counterparts.
The new model’s pricing means that it costs around €9,000 more than the Model Y Long Range Dual Motor, which is the next cheapest EV in the lineup. But it might just be worth it.
Buyers can expect the new Model Y Performance to have more power, although Tesla hasn’t yet shared exact figures on its website. A new, sportier Juniper design is present, as is a revamped chassis that should improve the ride somewhat.
However, any ride improvements are likely to be negated by the new, lower ride height and 21-inch wheels dubbed Arachnid 2.0.

In terms of performance, the EV will reach 100 kph in 3.5 seconds compared to the all-wheel-drive’s still respectable 4.8 seconds. Range comes in at 580 km, which is just 6km lower than the all-wheel-drive variant.

Tesla’s configurator also notes that the new Model Y Performance comes with adaptive suspension and “Unique Drive Modes.”
Inside the cabin, a new carbon-fiber trim is joined by new sports seats in the front. A new 16-inch display is also present, too.
Delivery isn’t all that far off, either. The configurator says buyers in Germany and the Netherlands can expect their new vehicle in September. Those buying in the UK will have to wait until October or November, unfortunately.
