Following the release of the eight developer betas, Apple has now made the fifth public beta of iOS 26 and its other software updates available for download.
Those on the public beta program can now download the raft of updates, including iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26. You’ll of course need to be on the public beta program, and it’s free to sign up if you aren’t.

The iOS 26 software update is expected to ship to the world next month and includes a raft of changes. The biggest and most obvious is the new Liquid Glass design language that adds a new look to the way Apple devices work.
The update stretches to all aesthetics, including icons, menus, navigation bars, and more. If it’s something that you interact with on-screen, it’s probably going to have a new look when iOS 26 is installed.
Apple is also adding new Apple Intelligence features as well as support for new call-holding features within the Phone app. Safari has also been redesigned, alongside the Photos app, while a new Games app has been added to make it easier for people to find new titles to play.

The iOS 26 software is set to power the upcoming iPhone 17 devices. Apple is expected to announce those phones during an event in the early weeks of September.
