Microsoft has released an update to XNA Game Studio 3.0 the day they have released the new Zune software and firmware. This release basically provides compatibility for game development on Zune firmware 3.0 devices along with full support to Visual Studio 2008. So whether you are a hobbyists, or an independent game developer, this release will enable you to easily create video games for Windows and the Microsoft Zune digital media player by using optimized cross-platform gaming libraries based on the .NET Framework. This beta release still doesn’t support game development for Xbox 360 platform but is promised to support it in the final release.
Microsoft XNA Game Studio is a toolset that makes creating great video games for Windows-based PCs, the Zune digital media player, and the Xbox 360 console (with an active premium XNA Creators Club subscription) easier than ever. This release represents the beta of Microsoft XNA Game Studio 3.0.
This release provides compatibility with the Zune 3.0 Firmware release. Please note that the XNA Game Studio 3.0 CTP will no longer work once you have upgraded your Zune device to the 3.0 firmware.
