Writer Of “The Social Network” Movie ‘Strongly Considering’ Writing Steve Jobs Biopic For Sony

In an interview with entertainment company E! Online at an event in Santa Monica, he said "Sony has asked me to write the movie and it's something I'm strongly considering."

It seems Hollywood's big names are queuing up to get in on the Steve Jobs act. Just a couple of days ago, we reported that George Clooney and Noah Wyle are both battling for the lead role of the man himself.

The Social Network, based around the rise and rise of Mark Zuckerberg - creator of Facebook - was also written by Sorkin, and with the critical acclaim (and three Oscars) accomplished by that particular movie, Sorkin would seem the perfect candidate to bring the story of Steve Jobs to the big screen.

He respects what Jobs achieved throughout his career, stating "He was a great entrepreneur, he was a great artist, a great thinker."

"Right now I'm just in the thinking-about-it stages," he continued. "It's a really big movie and it's going to be a great movie no matter who writes it."

At this point, the only research Sorkin has done on Jobs is reading the official biography, written by Walter Isaacson. While a very good read, has left some fans and followers with lingering questions about Mr. Apple. Although Isaacson is unquestionably a great author with a track record which speaks for itself, quite  a few have found the book to be a rather underwhelming account with very few moments of real amusement.

A movie would certainly change that, though, and hopefully, whoever writes or stars in it will be able to adequately present the man who has done so much for modern technology. Sorkin, with one significant tech-based movie behind him and a great amount of admiration for Jobs in general, does seem like the ideal writer - and certainly gets our vote.
