The Beats Solo 4 Headphones Are Here With Better Battery Life, Audio, And More

Apple has today released updated Beats Solo headphones, adding the Beats Solo 4 to the lineup with improved battery life and better audio capabilities.

The new headphones, which come in Matte Black, Slate Blue, and Cloud Pink colorways are available starting today from the Apple online store and cost $199.99. The headphones officially go on sale on May 2.

Buyers can look forward to battery life of up to 50 hours when listening wirelessly, an extra 10 hours when compared to the previous generation of Beats Solo headphones.

The headphones can also be used when connected over a USB-C connection or a 3.5mm headphone jack connection, both offering additional connectivity choices for people who want them. Need extra battery life? A single 10-minute charge will get users an additional five hours of playback time.

In terms of audio, new custom-built 40nm transducers have been tuned especially for music, we’re told, while support for Personalized Spatial Audio is included with support for dynamic head tracking. There are also beam-forming microphones and intelligent noise-learning algorithms that are designed to ensure improved call quality, too.

The new headphones support Apple’s Find My and Android’s Find My Device services while one-touch pairing is also offered on both iOS and Android.

While it’s always good news to see Beats add new headphones to the lineup, some will be wondering whether Apple will ever update its own-branded headphones, the AirPods Max. That’s now not expected to happen until later this year or early next.
