Apple To Replace Retina MacBook Pro Screens With Damaged Coating For Free [Report]

If you own a MacBook or MacBook Pro with Retina display and have noticed that the anti-reflective coating on its screen is proving troublesome, then you may be able to get that sorted out for free after Apple issued an internal notice on the subject. Some owners of certain models of Apple's notebook computers have reported problems such as coatings peeling or simply coming away from the screen completely.

Prior to this year's WWDC keynote, it was widely presumed Apple would add a Retina display to each of its MacBooks, as well as possibly the iMac. Of course, considering history, we should have been wise to Apple's plan; Include the Retina in one model, add a couple of extra perks, and slap an extortionate price tag on it, and see how many consumers can resist until said features are added across the board.

We could probably create a 'law' - along the lines of Godwin's law or Murphy's law - that states that with every iPhone release, there will be multiple rumors about it being designed with a larger screen. Of course, the upcoming, next-generation iPhone is no exception. Reuters has covered a rumor stemming from South Korean publication the Maeil Business Newspaper, which states that the next iPhone will have a 4.6" Retina Display screen.

Post launch, we then sit in amazement as somehow people manage to perfectly predict just what is going to be announced, and laugh uncontrollably at the others who were so far off the mark.
