Shot On iPhone 6: Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+ Leaked In New Photos

Everyone loves a good smartphone leak except, probably, the smartphone makers. We don’t make smartphones though, so when we heard about a Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ leak, we took notice with a glint in our eyes.

The new leaks, coming in a host of newly released photographs, show what it certainly appears are two unreleased Samsung smartphones – the Galaxy  Note 5 and the 5.5-inch Galaxy S6 Edge+. Both widely believed to be on the verge of an August announcement, the two devices are set to be big releases for Samsung, especially the always popular Galaxy Note lineup.

As for the leaked photos themselves, they appear to be ‘shot on iPhone 6,’ as can be seen in the reflection on the screen in some of the photos.

The photos show a Galaxy Note 5 that looks from the front to be very similar to the Galaxy Note 4 that it replaces, complete with square-ish corners. Newly relocated sensors give the same away though, as does the boot screen proudly announcing the phone’s arrival.

The all-new Galaxy S6 Edge+ looks, for all intents and purposes, like an oversized Galaxy S6 Edge, complete with dual-curved edges and much rounder corners than the Galaxy Note 5.

With an expected August announcement on the cards for both of these unannounced smartphones – August 13th is looking likely – expect to start seeing devices in retail outlets a few weeks later. We’re intrigued to see what the Galaxy S6 Edge+ has to offer bar the long name, and while the Galaxy Note lineup has historically sold well for Samsung, the curved edges and overall more modern appearance of the new phone could potentially see it compete favourably with other, more well established large screened smartphones.

With August just around the corner and Samsung very much on the lookout for a win right now, these two big releases could be very important for both Samsung and the smartphone market as a whole.
