New Leaked Android 5.0 Lollipop Build For Samsung Galaxy S5 Shown Off On Video

Samsung is moving fast to release Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy S5. Those following Samsung’s progress with customizing Android 5.0 Lollipop for the TouchWiz UI would know that the Galaxy S5 was earlier seen running an alpha build of the software, and now it seems the company has had another build in the works – a video and screenshots of which have just hit the Internet.

The new build has been leaked to SamMobile, who have tested it out on their S5, but have not released it to the masses given that it’s still a test build with inconsistencies, and unfit to be run as a daily driver. According to them, this new release is "leaps and bounds better than the build we previewed before".

Looks like the Android Lollipop base has been upgraded from LRW58J to LRX02E, but Samsung is still not using the most recent code from Google given the very fact that the build is missing the Lollipop branding. However, this build does read Android version as 5.0, unlike ‘L’ seen in the earlier one. The newer build also brings in the Flappy Bird like game as the Easter Egg, but excludes the Lollipop hurdles in favor of yellow and black striped ones.

Samsung has made some noticeable visual changes to the latest build, mostly focusing on the user interface, but new features have also been thrown into the mix. You can see from the screenshots that Lollipop’s core green theme has been replaced in favor of Samsung’s own blue one.

Samsung has gone for the Note 4 styled lock screen this time around, while there’s a major noticeable thinning of the system-wide font. With some subtle visual changes to the entire OS, it is good to see Samsung further improving on the animations as well, which are a lot more smoother than before, and the addition of a new screen off animation makes for an exciting Android 5.0 wait for Samsung users.

It is already speculated that the S5 might receive the Lollipop update in late November or early December this year, and given this development, we might just see that come true.
