iPhone 18 Pro Could Cost $300 More Than Its Predecessor

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max this September, and one analyst has warned that it could charge up to $300 more for each model than their predecessors.

Analyst Jeff Pu, posting on the X social network, warned that increased costs associated with storage and RAM could see Apple forced to bump prices.

The cost of the company’s decision to use TSMC’s new 2nm manufacturing process for the A20-series chips may also have a bearing on how much the devices wind up costing.

iPhone 18 Pro demand risk: Higher 2nm silicon and DRAM/NAND costs could drive a $250–300 price hike for iPhone 18 Pro/PM, creating demand uncertainty despite resilient iPhone 17 builds. iPhone 18 Pro/PM suggests limited spec upgrade for consumers.

If Apple does indeed go for the full $300 increase, the iPhone 18 Pro will start at $1,399 while the iPhone 18 Pro Max will start at a massive $1,499.

While we’ve already seen similar reports of potential price increases, this is the first time that we’ve seen a warning that as much as $300 could be added to the price of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to debut in September, alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone. It’s unclear whether the foldable iPhone will go on sale in the same month, however, with reports suggesting it could wait until October or November.
