Apple is expected to announce the iOS 18 update at its WWDC event this year in June, and now a new report appears to add more information on what we can expect from that release.
While the new update won’t be made public immediately following the event, the announcement will set the tone for what we can expect from the update once it arrives.
Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in the weekly Power On newsletter, says that there are a number of changes and improvements to be expected beyond the already rumored AI features.
Gurman believes that we can expect overhauls of big iOS apps including Photos, Mail, Notes, and Fitness. The Calculator app is also expected to be updated with new features while it’s also expected to come to the iPad for the first time, too.
The newsletter also claims that Apple will give iPhone owners new Home Screen customization options including the control over where icons are placed – something that has been discussed last month as well. While, visionOS-like elements have also been rumored for iOS 18, we will have to wait and see.
This iOS 18 software update is set to debut at WWDC but then enter a months-long beta process before it is made available to the public in September. That’s also when Apple is likely to announce the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, while new Apple Watches will also be released during the same month.
