Download The Exclusive Sneak Peek Of ‘Becoming Steve Jobs’ On iBooks

Apple is heavily promoting a new Steve Jobs book in the iBooks Store. More details on the news can be found right here after the jump.

The upcoming ‘Becoming Steve Jobs’ book, written by Brent Schlender and Rick Tetzeli, is set to be an interesting read in more than a few ways. Following on from the official Walter Isaacson biography that upset Jony Ive so much, this new work also sees interviews with some of the top brass that make Apple tick. We have already heard of some of the revelations set to be outed by the book when it goes on sale on March 24th, but we can’t wait to read more.

Someone inside Apple has apparently decided that the book is worth of some heavy iBooks Store promotion too, with the title featuring in emails and the store itself rather prominently. Apple has historically tried to distance itself from such books, but with the title going on sale in a matter of hours it is becoming somewhat clear that this book in particular has received someone’s blessing inside Apple’s iBooks Store team.

“There have been many books—on a large and small scale—about Steve Jobs, one of the most famous CEOs in history. But this book is different from all the others.”

The book, which some are saying will be a more interesting read than the aforementioned official Steve Jobs biography, is sure to be popular amongst a certain subset of the technology crowd. While we didn’t quite expect such a marketing push by Apple, we didn’t expect to see any pushback about it either. After all, Apple does have plenty of direct quotes from its own executives in the biography.

Since Steve Jobs’ death, there has been a deluge of people trying to supposedly tell the real story of the man that built Apple twice. Beyond this book, there has already been one movie made about Jobs since his passing, with another currently in the works.
