The developer behind the well known TinyUmbrella program has confirmed that a new upcoming update to his program will allow you to restore your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to a selected iOS firmware without having to use iTunes.
The Jailbreak Detection API which was introduced by Apple in June this year with iOS 4.0 has been quietly disabled or removed from iOS 4.2.x, reports NetworkWorld. This API was used by third-party MDM apps such Afaria or AirWatch to detect whether the user’s device was jailbroken or not.
The award winning studio, Epic Games which is behind Xbox 360 hits like Gears of Wars 2 and Unreal Tournament 3 – has released Infinity Blade for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Infinity Blade for iOS is based on the Unreal Engine 3 and needless to sat, it looks amazing!
In a TED talk held last month, Cydia creator Saurik said that only about 10% percent of iPhone users jailbreak their iPhones. One of the biggest reason why people don’t jailbreak their iPhones is because of the increased security concerns, which may effect their private and confidential data stored on the device.

MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that he has got untethered jailbreak working on the latest iOS 4.2.1 firmware. He further explains that this a “backup” plan to Comex’s upcoming userland method and that it is generalizable.
