iOS 9 Benchmarked On iPhone With ‘Low Power Mode’ On And Off

Paul Morris·June 26, 2015
The introduction of iOS 9 brought with it a number of feature additions and much-longed for functionality improvements. Rather than reinventing the wheel and attempting to serve up a whole new set of core features, iOS 9 exists as more of a stepping stone for what is to come and attempts to stabilize its core offering with a number of stability improvements that should make the whole experience more pleasurable across all devices. iOS 9 does however, introduce one very impressive little feature that should make a difference to a lot of users - Low Power Mode, which is designed to save battery life by reducing the performance of the device and preventing consistent background activity.

Paul Morris·June 25, 2015
With Apple continuing to expand and push the capabilities of its HomeKit framework / program to developers and hardware manufacturers alike, it's inevitable that multiple new pieces of hardware will start to hit the market in the coming months. Apple Plans To Put Touch ID Inside iPhone’s Display, Eliminating Home Button

Paul Morris·June 23, 2015
The basic hardware design pattern of the iPhone has remained fairly consistent since 2007. The current-generation iPhone is visually miles ahead from the original, but the actual physical makeup of the hardware carries all the general pieces of the debuting device - such as the volume, sleep / wake, Home button, albeit in different locations. With that said, things could all change as we move into the future, as it’s being reported that Apple is internally working on a number of future iPhone designs that would see the iconic Home button being removed for good.
