The iPhone 5S Knockoff Is Already Here, Powered By Jelly Bean, Dual-Core Processor And More [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·March 12, 2013
With Apple being the world’s most valuable company, it’s hardly surprising that bootleggers dedicate their time and efforts to creating fake versions of its revered product range. The term knockoff has even been coined to describe these devices and their makers, and watching these attempts slip through the net and into the market has become something of a spectator sport. With the Cupertino company rumored to be plotting the ‘iPhone 5S’ for release in the near future, resident rip-off merchant Goophone has come through with its ‘i5S’ handset, and although we wouldn’t be tempted by a copycat device perhaps ourselves, it’s not hard to see how the company stays in business.

Galaxy S4 Hands-On Video Appears Online Ahead Of Official Launch

Ben Reid·March 12, 2013
Yesterday, an alleged sighting of the Samsung Galaxy S IV in the wild was spread via Chinese forum. But while yesterday's leaked images gave very little away, the same source has come through with a hands-on video. It looks very legitimate indeed, and the handset, which is supposedly the China Unicom variant, bears striking similarities to the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II.

Apple Improves Maps For Japan Without Releasing iOS 6.1.3

Ben Reid·March 12, 2013
Since releasing iOS 6.1, Apple has slowly but surely been working on improvements. iOS 6.1.1 beta was seeded shortly after iOS 6.1 had reached the public domain, but because iOS 6.1.1 and 6.1.2 had to be hurriedly released to the public to see to a number of bugs and security flaws, the next beta was renamed iOS 6.1.3 beta 2, in an attempt to restore some kind of order. Today, rather than releasing iOS 6.1.3 beta 3, the Cupertino company has instead pushed out the update to Maps for those boasting an iOS device - the same updates first seen in those earlier betas.

PlayStation 4 And Xbox 720 Games Will Be Priced At $70, According To Analyst

Ben Reid·March 12, 2013
The words of analysts are, more often than not, to be taken with a pinch of salt; especially in a technology industry where most supposition is based on little more than educated guesswork. Gamers will be hoping Michael Pachter has gotten his numbers muddled up somewhere, after the game financial analyst, of Wedbush Securities, suggested that games for the PlayStation 4 and unannounced next-gen Xbox console could tip the scales at a hefty $70. Speaking to a panel in Austin, Texas, he also foresees Microsoft coming out on top in the battle of the next-gen consoles, as it has done with the Xbox 360.

Naturally, neighbors have been asking him questions regarding the box he carries everywhere with him, but as far as revealing what's inside, he doesn't budge. The familiar spate of bad acting and cheesiness ensues throughout one and-a-half minute clip, so you have been warned. Check it out below.

Second Generation HTC Facebook Phone ‘Myst’ Specs Leak Online

Ben Reid·March 9, 2013
So-called "social" smartphones have tried, and as yet failed spectacularly to create any legitimate niche within the market. With 1+ billion on Facebook and many millions more using the likes of Twitter, the social smartphone should, at least on paper, be an easy sell; but as HTC found out with the ChaCha and Salsa, not everybody likes to dance is so keen to buy into the idea of a device tailored to the social networks. Undeterred, the "quietly brilliant" Taiwanese company looks set for another stab with its 'Myst' handset, and if a specs leak via Unwired View's evleaks is to be believed, the mid-range handset sounds like a decent effort.
