Apple And Porsche Show Off Retro-Themed Car Liveries At Laguna Seca

As the Formula 1 season gets set to return this weekend, Apple and Porsche have teamed up tos hare an anniversary race car livery that will take to the track in California on May 3.

The F1 series returns with the Miami Grand Prix on May 3, but all eyes will be on this collaboration that aims to recreate the look of Porsche’s iconic 935 K3 race car.

Fans of Apple and Porsche will be able to take in the car during the IMSA race at the Laguna Seca raceway in California.

At round four of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on May 3rd at Laguna Seca, the Porsche works team will show a historic Apple Computer-inspired livery. The special wrap is based on the Porsche 935 K3, which competed in major events in the 1980 season including the 24 hours of Le Mans. The one-time design of the two Porsche 963 celebrates two milestones happening in 2026: the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport and 50 years since the founding of Apple.

Oliver Schusser, Vice President Apple Music, Sports, and Beats, notes that Apple and Porsche enjoy “a longstanding relationship” going back to 1980 when the Apple logo could be found on the Porsche race car.

“That moment marked the beginning of a shared passion for innovation and creativity that continues to define our collaboration today, Schusser added. “As Apple celebrates its 50th anniversary, we’re proud to once again partner with Porsche on a design that pays tribute to that original 1980 livery.”
