Apple’s iPhone 17 Lineup Is Its Most Popular Ever

Apple’s September 2025 iPhone 17 lineup has proven to be the company’s most popular yet, according to the company’s CFO Kevan Parakh.

Speaking to the Financial Times, Parekh pointed to the iPhone 17 lineup as a bright spot. Both he and CEO Tim Cook also called out the lineup as a key part of the company’s strong Q2 2026 performance.

Cook also said that iPhone demand was “off the charts,” noting that the company would likely have been able to sell even more iPhones if supply were not constrained.

Cook noted that getting more iPhone parts had proven more difficult than usual, saying that “there’s just a little less flexibility in the supply chain at the moment for getting more parts.” Cook added that the supply of the A19 and A19 Pro chips had proven particularly problematic.

Apple and the wider tech industry will need to deal with ongoing parts shortages thanks in part to the AI data center boom that has taken up so much manufacturing capacity. Chips, especially memory and storage, are likely to be severely supply-constrained throughout the year and heading into 2027. Apple was thought to be relatively insulated from the issue given its strong supply chain partnerships, but these comments from the company’s CEO suggest that may not be the case.
