Android 4.4 KitKat Release Draws Closer; Official ‘Magic’ Animated Video Released

Android KitKat magic

In the grand scheme of Android releases, 4.4 KitKat mightn’t be a great deal to write home about, but with the Nexus 5 also a part of the deal, we’ve reason to be somewhat excited. Today, the official KitKat YouTube channel has been given an update with a new video entitled “magic,” and although it doesn’t give too much away regarding the software’s features, it does serve to whet the appetites of Android users far and wide. Check it out after the break.

Android Jelly Bean 4.3 has only been out for a couple of months, and has only very recently reached some of the market’s foremost smartphones and tablets. Considering the short timespan between these two releases, we’re not expecting a great amount of new features, but there may still be enough within the chocolatey treat to render it a noteworthy update.

The main event is, of course, the Google Nexus 5, made by LG Electronics. The Nexus 4 is well over a year old, and although it still more than holds its own against some of the mid-to-high-end smartphones available today, it is looking a shade antiquated. We’ve seen many leaks and press images indicative of a handsome aesthetic upgrade, and with plenty of new hardware within, it’s no wonder the Android faithful are eagerly anticipating its release.

We’re expecting an official announcement of both Android 4.4 KitKat and the Google Nexus 5 in the very near future, and with the search giant always managing to keep its Nexus brand of smartphones and slates within the budget of most consumers, those in the market for a reasonably-priced handset have much to look forward to.

We’ll be on the lookout for any other news and info relating to Google’s new hardware and software, so stay tuned for that; and in the meantime, you can check out the new video embedded below. As aforementioned, it doesn’t give a helluva lot away, but as we draw dangerously close to an imminent official announcement, November 1st is the day to look forward to if reports are to be believed, hopefully the rumor and speculation can soon be put to rest.
