Apple is set to take the wraps off no fewer than three new smart home products on October 13, according to a new report. This after months of rumors that Apple would bring new smart devices to market.
Now, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman reports that Apple has plans to debut a raft of devices, including a brand-new one and two refreshes for existing models.
If this report is accurate, we can expect Apple to announce these new products in the days leading up to iPhone Duo preorders opening.
According to Gurman, Apple will unveil a refreshed HomePod mini, which will include two new colors, including green and pink. The new HomePod mini will be the first to gain support for Siri AI, making the smart speaker more capable than the previous models and generations.
Alongside the new HomePod mini, Apple will reportedly finally refresh the Apple TV 4K. The fourth-gen device will feature a new chip, allowing Siri AI support to be added. This will be the first time Siri AI has come to the big screen, although it’s unclear what other improvements the device will offer.
Finally, Apple is rumored to have a new smart home hub device ready for prime time. It’s unknown what this new device will look like or what it will offer, but rumors have suggested a future product will include a display and camera — suggesting October’s announcement won’t be for such a device.
