A week ago, we heard the news that Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak would be starring alongside Danny Trejo in an 8-bit epic for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. On paper, games simply don’t get any more awesome, and if you’ve been anxious to see one of the world’s most celebrated techies swap the automatic updates for the automatic rifle, today’s your lucky day.

It’s available right now over at the App Store for the very reasonable price of $0.99, and if you like your 8 bit games as much as you love your shoot-’em-ups, this one should already be loading on your home screen.

Woz With A Coz

As detailed in the earlier post, Woz plays the role of a superhero in Fusion City, and is quickly called into action after his wife J-Woz is kidnapped by resident villain Ricardo White. From there, the chase is on, and much like other titles in the "always running" format, Woz must duck, dive, jump and shoot his way past various obstacles on the way to rescuing J-Woz.

There is plenty of arsenal on offer, starting with a blade before moving up things like Uzis and Bazookas, and if you want to try some of the heavier ones sooner as opposed to later, you can buy coins in the Store for upgrades and new additions to your arsenal.

It’s as casual as casual games come, but its lighthearted nature and continually humorous quips make it a great way to pass the odd fifteen minutes. The cartoon music playing in the background is perfectly suited to this fast-paced kind of title, and if you’re a fan of the man, the legend that is Woz, you should definitely invest your pocket change on this one.

It comes complete with Woz’s own voice clips, and although it’s merely a promo title leading up to the release of Danny Trejo’s Vengeance movie, don’t let that put you off purchasing what is a very entertaining title.
