Tim Cook, Tech CEOs, Republican Elite Attend Secret Meeting To End Trump’s Run For POTUS

It’s being reported that Tim Cook, along with a number of technology company CEOs and established Republican representatives, have met at the American Enterprise Institute’s World Forum to discuss one thing; how to stop Donald Trump from gaining the Presidential nomination from his party. It is being reported that Apple CEO Tim Cook is part of a fairly high profile coalition that has been looking at ways to try and prevent Donald Trump from getting the nod to run for President of the United States.

The event is said to have taken place just off the coast of Georgia at a resort on a private island, which in all honesty, feels like some kind of behind-closed-doors meeting of super villains. The guest list included the likes of Tim Cook, Google co-founder Larry Page, Tesla Motors’ Elon Musk, Facebook investor and Napster creator Sean Parker, amongst others. Established Republican representatives Mitch McConnell, Karl Rove, Tim Cotton, Corry Gardner, Rob Portman, and House Speaker Paul Ryan were also included on the relatively high-profile guest list.

This definitely wasn’t one of those highly publicized events taking place in front of the world’s media, so it’s difficult to get a full and accurate portrayal of what was actually on the agenda, along with exactly what was discussed. The report suggests that the “main topic” of conversation was focused not only on how Donald Trump could effectively be stopped from becoming the next President of the United States, but also what catalog of events have actually led to Trump being in a position where he finds himself as the front-runner for the Republican vote.

The meeting itself may have been predominantly focused on the Donald Trump situation, but as you might expect, when you get that many tech leaders and politicians in one place together, it would also be inevitable that the topic of Apple’s current encryption drama would crop up in discussion. There’s a great deal of support for Tim Cook and Apple as they approach a date in court with the federal government to fight their corner in the ongoing encryption case. However it is being reported that Republican senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas was pretty vocal about his take on Apple’s refusal to comply with the court’s order in helping the FBI get inside the iPhone 5c allegedly involved in the San Bernardino shooting. His thoughts reportedly made the attendees uncomfortable.

While there are a number of publicly outspoken individuals who clearly aren’t on Apple’s side in this instance, such as NYPD’s Chief John Miller, but Donald Trump is one of those individuals who notably stands out and has previously gone on record to that effect by asking the American citizens to boycott Apple products.
