Swype Keyboard on Android

Swype keyboard, which is currently officially available only on Windows Mobile based Samsung Omnia II has been leaked for Android devices. This leaked preview version of Skype is optimized for high resolution Android devices such as the Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris. This preview version of Swype for Android devices is said to be incompatible with the older WVGA screens.

Although this news isn’t confirmed as yet, but it has been learnt from various sources that starting from this Friday, AT&T is starting its Christmas sale for the holiday season by offering upto 50% off on all RIM BlackBerry smartphones with new activation and minimum $30 monthly data package. It is believed that Verizon Wireless will also be joining AT&T on the same day by going a step further and offering, the Buy-One-Get-One-Free promotions on their popular Android handsets, the Motorola Droid and Droid Eris.

In continuation of its Droid Does advertising campaign from last month, Verizon in pursuance of anti Apple campaign, has launched yet another ad war against iPhone, which is totally Droid centric, but this time a little personal on Steve Jobs as well. Although the ad is Droid specific, it fails to express or tell any strength or specialty of Droid feature wise, and is rather totally focused on highlighting and targeting the weakness of iPhone.
