Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) has now been superseded by Jelly Bean (4.1), but that doesn’t mean to say some consumers are not waiting for an OTA update of the older iteration for their device. HTC’s Desire HD is a pretty useful device in terms of specs – despite its age – thus most owners presumed their treasured device would inevitably see the new firmware.

The HTC One V is still a fairly new arrival to the market, and although it’s by no means a pile-driver in the smartphone industry, its 3.7-inch display, 1GHz single-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, and Beats Audio enhancements, inside a svelte 10 millimeters unibody render it a pretty decent package – especially given the $370 handset-only price tag.

The HTC One V – which is suspected to be releasing in black, purple and grey for those not partial to the Zune brown coloring demoed at MWC – is quite a similar smartphone to the preceding Desire S, so switching ROMs between each device would make more than a little sense.

Version 3.5 of HTC’s custom Android UX Sense was leaked a few days ago and today, a custom ROM featuring Sense 3.5 – based on Android 2.3.4 “Gingerbread” – has been released which works on the HTC Desire HD.
