Tesla looks set to bring support for some new streaming services to its in-car entertainment system, dubbed Tesla Theater after a number of major streaming services appear to be working in full-screen Theater mode.
Several streaming services are now opening in full-screen mode similar to those already offered by Tesla Theater apps like Netflix and YouTube.

Tesla owners simply need to navigate to their streaming service’s website and then the browser will automatically open in full-screen mode.
A number of streaming services have been tested and confirmed to now work, including:
- Apple TV
- Amazon Prime Video
- HBO Max
- Disney+
- Plex
- Paramount+
- Peacock
- Xbox Cloud Gaming
Given the fact that Tesla Theater is little more than a way to launch a streaming service in a chromeless browser, it’s likely that even more streaming services will now work this way. Tesla doesn’t make a native app for any of these services, so no work is required on its side.
It’s so far been unclear why the company hasn’t allowed more streaming services to function in this way, but the report suggests it could be a licensing issue — Tesla may want streaming companies to pay it to allow their services to be used in Tesla vehicles.
