There’s hope yet for people who placed a preorder for the upcoming iPhone Duo and were told that they would have to wait for anything up to three months for it to be delivered.
Days after the preorders began, some buyers have been told their iPhones will be delivered sooner than expected.

According to a 9to5Mac report, a number of early iPhone Duo preorders have seen their shipment dates move up considerably. That includes one user on the X social network whose original December delivery date moved to October 23 — the iPhone Duo launch date.
A number of similar reports can also be found on social media, although it appears that these new delivery dates are only being shared by people who live in Japan.
It’s unclear why that might be, but it’s possible that the country will have more iPhone Duo handsets available than was originally expected. It’s also not yet known whether that will also extend to retail stores, or if it only affects online orders.
Apparently iPhone Duo shipping dates are being bumped up in Japan?? 👀👀 https://t.co/mw8w07tVf8

The iPhone Duo was made available for preorder on October 16 and almost immediately saw delivery dates stretch far beyond the October 23 release date. Some people report that ordering an iPhone Duo on the launch date still meant that they would have to wait until January 2027 to take delivery. It was a similar story for those buying via carriers, not just people buying direct from Apple itself.
