Apple has a long history of marking products as "Vintage" when they are deemed as end-of-life, usually at a point where parts are no longer available for them. As of August 31 2018, this fate will befall the 2012 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Airs, but there is good news because the two machines will also be added to Apple's pilot program which makes provisions allowing them to be repaired for a further two years.
