Here’s the description from the Android market:

- Convert videos on the fly or select previously created videos.
- Choose specific video intervals
- Adjust preferences such as frames per second, frame delay, and GIF dimensions.
- Choose specific frames to create a perfect GIF
- Built in sharing features to show your GIF to everyone!

The app actually has a lot going for it; the interface is simple, clean and easy to navigate, and it’s free of charge.

Only yesterday, we also featured another Android app which helps you make GIFs by stitching together a sequence of still images. If it sounds like something you might be interested in, check out the full blog post.

GIF files provide a happy median between video and image. The web is strewn with them, and let’s face it – there’s little more entertaining than a witty, well-timed .gif.

Whilst there are plenty of terrible, one-click solutions leaving company watermarks all over the place, the best .gifs are made using image editing programs. Although it doesn’t take much effort or practice to make them, opening Photoshop for the first time is often enough to leave people running for the hills.

With e-mail, internet, and countless apps and utilities (400,000+, as of last week), turning video into a moving picture may not be high on the list of priorities of what you most value your smartphone for. That said – and although the days of MySpace are thankfully a distant memory – there still be times when you wish to crop that special/funny moment and post it to your friends.

A new app for Android users named GIFDroid caters to exactly that. Like most video/image manipulating apps, it allows you to edit pre-existing footage or capture a new sequence ready to be dragged straight to the studio. You can crop bits out and select your desired frames with apparent ease in order to create that perfect gif. As you would expect, there are a whole host of social sharing buttons allowing you to clog up any social network you so desire with your inspiring creations – from Facebook to Flickr, Instagram to Twitter.
