Musixmatch, an app that has been popular for a while among fans of third-party lyrics apps, has a new update out that brings support for Apple CarPlay.
The new app uses CarPlay’s support for Live Activities to display song lyrics in real time. However, there is no actual support for an app so you can’t open it in CarPlay as you would on your iPhone.
Karaoke with the crew, stuck in traffic, or just never wanting to miss a line. You can now see real-time lyrics directly on your CarPlay screen and Apple Watch.

It’s vital to remember that this is a feature aimed at passengers rather than drivers. It’s important to make sure that you keep your eyes on the road while driving, so we suggest memorizing those lyrics ahead of time if you want to join in with the road trip sing-along.
The Musixmatch app is a free download from the App Store, but you’ll need the premium subscription if you want to make use of its features. That’ll set you back $35.99 per year, so make sure that you’re really into your lyrics before splashing the cash on this one.
