The iPhone Duo officially went on sale today, with early preorders arriving and some lucky buyers able to pick their new foldable phone up in store. But for those who decided to skip this generation, the new rumor is that iPhone Duo 2 could be bigger than the one that is now on sale.
That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who was speaking on the Power On podcast. According to the well-connected Gurman, he “heard” that Apple is “looking at” potentially making a future iPhone Dup slightly larger in terms of its inner display.

The current iPhone Duo’s inner display measures 7.6 inches, while the outer display measures 5.4 inches.
Gurman doesn’t know exactly how much larger the new iPhone Duo’s inner display would be, but he suggested that it could be somewhere between 7.9 inches and 8.1 inches. Importantly, he noted that this would not be an additional model, like an iPhone Duo Max, but rather an improved iteration of the model available today.
The current iPhone Duo went up for preorder on September 16 and immediately saw expected ship dates stretch weeks and then months into the future. Ordering an iPhone Duo from the Apple Store website today means waiting until January 2027, although you may have more luck visiting a physical store instead. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for the 256GB model.
