Apple is expected to announce the iOS 27 software update during its WWDC opening keynote on June 8, and a new report claims to have details about a change in the way it will display notifications to users.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has been sharing information about the upcoming iOS 27 update in recent weeks, and a new report claims that notifications will slide in from the left side of the screen rather than from the top, as is the case today.

The report also notes that iPhone owners will need to swipe down from the top-left corner of the display to access Notification Center when they update to iOS 27. This change is because swiping down from the center of the display will invoke a new Siri interface. Dubbed “Search or Ask,” the interface will be similar to that of a chatbot.
Control Center will continue to be accessed by swiping down from the top-right corner of the display.
Apple’s WWDC event is expected to see Apple unveil new software updates for all of its platforms, not just the iPhone. Those updates will then undergo months of beta testing ahead of a public release around September time. This matches a years-long pattern that Apple is unlikely to change any time soon.
