Apple is expected to announce the iOS 27 update at WWDC in June, and a new leak claims that the update will drop support for four iPhones when it arrives.
9to5Mac reports that leaker Instant Digital, writing via their Weibo social network account, believes that iOS 27 will not support the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and the second-generation iPhone SE. Beyond those devices, all of those that work with iOS 26 will also work with iOS 27.

If accurate, those looking to download iOS 27 will need to have an iPhone 12 or third-generation iPhone SE or later. As the report notes, this comes after the iOS 26 release also dropped support for the 2018 iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
It’s as-yet unknown exactly why Apple might choose to drop support for these particular devices.
However, this normally happens when a software update requires specific hardware features or performance that simply aren’t available on some older devices. That could very well be the case here, but we’ll need to see what Apple has in store for iOS 27 to be sure.
If Apple sticks to its usual release pattern, the iOS 27 update will be announced at WWDC in June before a months-long beta process culminates in public availability this fall.
We expect iOS 27 to be released to the public around the same time that Apple announces the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone.
