Infamous Galaxy Note 7 Could Be Samsung’s Last Phone In Note Lineup

Reports are coming in from South Korea, suggesting that the Galaxy Note 7 could be the very last device from Note lineup of Samsung.

The extremely well-publicized problems that have faced the Galaxy Note 7 – resulting in two worldwide recalls, manufacturing being stopped, and a total ban of taking the device on flights – appear to have put enough of a sour taste in Samsung’s mouth to seriously consider ensuring that the Note 7 is the last of its kind. When the dust finally settles on the whole Galaxy Note 7 debacle, Samsung will need time to actually digest the extent of the issues, and attempt to pinpoint exactly where it went wrong with the design and manufacture of the ill-fated device.

Until then, it seems Samsung is under the impression that the Note brand is damaged beyond repair, with the report suggesting that the company will look to concentrate and focus efforts on developing and pushing the Galaxy S range of hardware, and of course, ensuring that quality of that hardware is the utmost importance.

Many smartphone aficionados have often thrown shade at Apple for looking to introduce a new iPhone on a twelve month rolling cycle. Not only can it be expensive for consumers, but it can sometimes seem like the release of a device for release sake, with each generation becoming less of a revolution and more of an evolution year-on-year.

Samsung looks to push out a number of flagships each year, with the Galaxy S range and Galaxy Note range hugely appealing to consumers, but it looks as though it could be a victim of its own product roadmap with failures to ensure that quality control is in place, and that hardware is fit for public consumption.

With two worldwide recalls of the Note 7, as well as intervention from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and FAA, the reputation of the Note brand will be extremely difficult to repair, if Samsung ever chooses to try. For now, it seems that the whole future of the Note line is up in the air, but with Samsung unavailable for comment, and with no official statement or future plans being released pertaining to future products at this time, it’s more of a best guess than a done deal.
