HTC One M9 Vs iPhone 6 Plus: Camera Comparison [Photos]

It’s been a big week, not just for the iPhone’s competitors in Samsung and HTC, but also the iPhone itself. With both HTC and Samsung now having launched their new flagship phones into the wild, the iPhone 6 no longer has the world to itself. Can two of the biggest Android phone makers compete? It’s early days, but the initial signs are promising.

When a new raft of high-end smartphones arrive, one of the metrics that people like to use as a basis for comparison is photo quality. We are taking more and more of our photographs using our smartphones these days, and some of us even use a smartphone as our only source of images. If that’s the case, then you need something that will kick out truly awesome photos with the minimum of fuss. and the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are particularly good at just that.

Yesterday, we told you about a comparison which saw the newest iPhone pitted against Samsung’s new Galaxy S6, and today, we have a similar test, but this time with the HTC One M9 as the competition for Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus.

We won’t go into the whys and wherefores here, but the end result was that the iPhone 6 Plus still came out on top, although HTC’s new phone was capable of producing some very nice images indeed, at least when they were being taken outside, but it struggled with exposure, as can be seen in the samples below.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come with an 8-megapixel camera, while the Samsung and HTC pack 16 and 20-megapixel shooters respectively. Apple is convinced that more pixels isn’t always the way to better images, and the results we’ve seen so far, they have a valid point.
