HTC 8X Windows Phone 8 Powered Device Specs Leaked: Features 1.2GHz Dual-Core Processor, Beats Audio, 4.3-inch Display & More

With Nokia already announcing the Lumia 920, it seems that it's HTC’s turn to champion the Windows Phone 8 platform with a rumored released of their own. We’re already aware that HTC is holding a device launch event that will bring a bunch of devices powered by Microsoft's latest mobile operating system, and it looks likes the HTC 8X could be that device. Rather than dumping all of their eggs into one basket, Microsoft now has a number of major manufacturers pushing out devices powered by Windows Phone, and they don't come much bigger than Nokia, Samsung and now HTC.

If the leaked specifications do belong to the HTC 8X, then it looks like the handset will come adorned with a 4.3-inch multi-touch capacitive display powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The device will contain 1GB of RAM and have internal storage of 16GB, with an internal model number of C620e. As you might expect from a high-end HTC creation, the device will also ship with Beats Audio technology built-in, as well as an embedded 8-megapixel camera with full 1080p video recording capabilities. Built-in Near Field Communications (NFC) technology completes the specification of what looks like a very handy little Windows Phone 8 powered device.

Even though the smartphone industry is always bubbling away nicely with plenty of issues and controversies, there has been little to talk about in the last few months about the things that really matter. Putting the court cases, internal disputes and platform arguments aside, the thing that consumers really care about is the hardware and software that is being developed to offer the maximum power and choice to purchasers. After all, the ones who buy and use the products are the people who actually matter the most in any industry.

Thankfully, after a recent period of downtime, the focus has all been shifted onto the emergence of some fantastic devices from the major players in the industry, culminating in a plethora of choice for consumers. Apple is set to announce their next-generation iPhone in the next few days. Nokia have recently announced their mid-range Windows Phone 8 powered Lumia 820, as well as their flagship device, the Lumia 920. Motorola has showed off their new range of RAZR devices. It all boils down to a period of activity that brings choice to the people who matter the most, and that can only be a good thing for the industry at large.
