How To Report Cheaters And Fake Scores On Game Center

As far as first-party iOS apps go, Game Center is one such offering that’s more often than not resigned to a folder somewhere and very rarely checked or interacted with. With that said, frequent mobile gamers who take challenges and achievements within games very seriously will likely keep an eye on leaderboards and the likes within Apple’s Game Center experience, and there’s nothing more infuriating than seeing someone sitting at the top of the pile with a score that’s clearly not legitimate.

Well, did you know that you can actually report that profile directly to Apple and flag it as cheating? Granted, it may feel a little childish to start reporting profiles for purely having a score that has been achieved illegitimately through cheats, but if you’ve played the best you can play, achieved an excellent and respected score, and still don’t manage to get the kudos you deserve because someone else has cheated, then reporting it is the only way to make yourself feel just that little bit better.

Additionally, you may come across some inappropriate profile handlers, or photos that would give any parent the shivers knowing that their kids may stumble upon such profiles via Game Center. Whatever the problem, you can voice your concern to Apple very easily now. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: To start the process, launch Game Center and then tap on the name of the person that you wish to report. This will open that individual’s Game Center profile.

Step 2: If you’re viewing a profile via the Leaderboards in the Games tab and are not connected to that person as a Friend, tap the Report button on the top right corner. If you’re viewing a profile through the Friends tab, then tap the three dots (Menu) button against the user’s profile on the top right and then tap on Report a Problem option from the resultant menu.

Step 3: Here you’ll find Cheating as one of the problems you can report on. Select this option, or any other that may be relevant, and fill out the description with detailed information and evidences. Make sure you include the fake score that you believe has been achieved through less than scrupulous means in a specific game. Once done, tap the Send Report button to submit your report to Apple.

Apple will obviously review your submitted report and if there is enough evidence found in your description, will then take appropriate action against the user and his fake score.
