Apple’s iPhone Duo, its first foldable phone, officially went live earlier today.
But unless you were very quick when placing your preorder, the chances are that you’ll be waiting until 2027 for your new iPhone to arrive.

A check of the online Apple Store in the United States, United Kingdom, and elsewhere shows that delivery estimates for the iPhone Duo have slipped into 2027 after almost instantly selling out for a launch-day delivery. The iPhone Duo officially goes on sale on October 23.
There is still some good news for anyone who wants to pick up the iPhone Duo on the 23rd, though. There’s a good chance that there will be some limited stock at local Apple Stores around the globe, but it’s not known how many units will be available. It’s unlikely to be many, and online stock checkers show October 24 is the earliest that in-store collection is available.
The reason for the long delivery times is unclear currently. It’s possible that the iPhone Duo has been incredibly popular, but at a starting price of $1,999, that seems unlikely. Instead, it’s probable that Apple was unable to make a huge quantity of devices — something that may be backed up by previous reports of manufacturing issues.
Reviews for the iPhone Duo have yet to be released, so it will be interesting to see how well the costly foldable will be received when that embargo breaks next week.
