Download: macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Final Version For Macs Released

Apple has taken macOS Sierra 10.12.2 out of testing and made final version available to download to the general public with a compatible iMac or MacBook.

This extremely welcome public release comes after a period of testing with developers and public testers that involved the seeding of six individual betas with the aim of perfecting and honing the platform ready for this public launch. Now that it’s here, the focus moves on what it has to offer on compatible Macs. As for what exactly has been introduced by Apple with the release of macOS Sierra 10.12.2, well it’s unfortunately what you might call slim pickings.

As we have come to expect from point releases of this nature, Apple has used this release opportunity to focus on overall stability and performance improvements that should hopefully make the macOS Sierra experience a much more pleasurable one on compatible iMacs and MacBooks.

In addition to embedding overall bug fixes, improvements and stability enhancements, Apple has also used version 10.12.2 to to ensure that macOS is more finely tuned for those lucky individuals using one of Apple’s 2016 MacBook Pro models. That involves a deeper integration within macOS for the fantastic new Touch Bar experience on the 2016 MacBook Pro, as well as enhancements for that same hardware containing Apple’s Touch ID sensor for biometric authentication without the need for passwords and the like.

It also includes new Unicode 9 emojis, new wallpapers, and fixes for graphical glitches as well as Time Machine crashing issue.

Overall, rather than being a larger, somewhat evolutionary change, macOS Sierra 10.12.2 is Apple’s way of streamlining and redefining certain aspects of the platform to not only provide a better experience for users, but to also ensure that new hardware that has been released after the initial release of Sierra is fully supported without any hiccups or issues. Make sure you grab the update right now to get the best possible macOS Sierra experience.

Any proud owner of a compatible iMac or MacBook can head on over to the Mac App Store to grab the final version of macOS Sierra 10.12.2 right now.
