Apple has today released for download iOS 27 RC (Release Candidate) IPSW links, with an OTA update also on offer if you’d rather go that route. This means that registered developers can download the update right now using their chosen method.
Apple’s iOS 27 RC release comes just a matter of days before what is expected to be a mid-September public release of the new iPhone software.
Apple announced the iOS 27 software update during its WWDC opening keynote in June of this year, and has been releasing new beta updates regularly ever since.
Both developers and members of the public beta program have tested various beta updates and reported bugs for Apple to address throughout the process. This Release Candidate is considered to be the final version of iOS 27, with Apple asking for a final check for bugs and other issues prior to making it available to iPhone owners around the world.
Anyone who already has one of the previous betas installed can now head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device and grab the OTA update from there. But remember that these are still beta updates and that issues are to be expected.
Alongside iOS 27, Apple has also been testing beta versions of iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27.
