Apple has today made the first public beta 1 version of iOS 27 available for download. The first public beta 1 versions of iPadOS 27, tvOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27 are also now available.
Apple promised that the iOS 27 public beta program would begin in July, and the developer beta has already been running for a number of weeks now. Apple announced the iOS 27 software update at WWDC on June 8, immediately making the first beta software available to developers.
Now, those who are yet to join the developer beta program can also get in on the beta fun. The public beta program is available to everyone and is free. However, it’s important to remember that these updates are still in beta form. That means that bugs and other issues are to be expected.
For that reason, we recommend only installing these beta updates on devices that you don’t need to rely on. The bugs can often come about when they are least expected, and may affect features that you would normally rely on to work.
We expect that Apple will release the second public betas to the public in a week or two, but there is no guarantee that bugs will be addressed with that release.
