The very first Assassin's Creed III trailer dropped on 5th March, and the game is set to release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 from October 30th, with an iteration for Microsoft Windows arriving three weeks later on November 20, 2012.

As well as going into some detail with regards to the American Revolution from 1753 to 1783, (to which the title is heavily based), the near 7 minute clip also offers a stronger insight into the new protagonist; the half-English, half-Native American Connor Kenway. Assassin's Creed fans get to see the work of Noah Watts - the voice behind Kenway - as well as the incredible amount of research that dictates the things he says throughout the title.

Connor Kenway, despite being your archetypal hero, is to be seen also as "a defender of the people," points out Akwiratékha Martin, the Assassin's Creed III's Language Consultant, and gamers will be able to embark on another epic journey as Kenway from the latter stages of October.

The team behind Assassin's Creed 3 have worked tirelessly not only to create a stunning game in the playability and visual sense, but also really given it some contextual accuracy, ensuring every shred of detail properly reflects the period in which it is set.

Whether you're a fan of Assassin's Creed or just a gaming (or indeed, history) aficionado in general, I reckon everybody will take something from the video, and you can check it out via the embed below.

As part of the build-up to the third installment of Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft – developer and publisher of the highly anticipated title – has released the first episode of its "Inside Assassin’s Creed III" series, offering gamers an in-depth look into how the game is made, the improvements therein, and just how much effort and research goes into creating a title of its magnitude.

Game developers and publishers are investing more resources, it would seem, in showing gaming fans just how their favorite titles come to be, and it has certainly enabled many to appreciate games even more. Ubisoft isn’t the only company employing the strategy, but it appears to be an increasingly popular move which also allows previously unseen snippets to be revealed prior to the release of the title.
