Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max could be the option to choose if you’re a photographer. That’s after a leaker claimed that it will have a big zoom camera upgrade.
Writing on the Weibo social network, leaker Instant Digital claims that the phone will have the best telephoto camera used in a phone when it launches next month. The leaker didn’t say why that will be, though, so it’s unclear what they are referring to.
Leaks in recent months have Apple bringing two new features to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, although it isn’t clear which, if any, will also be available to iPhone 17 Pro buyers.
The first is a rumored upgrade from a 12-megapixel sensor to a new 48-megapixel one. The second rumor claims that a new 8x zoom capability will be included for the first time. The current iPhones only offer a 5x optical zoom, so this would be a notable upgrade.
Instant Digital has a hit-and-miss record with sharing details ahead of Apple product launches, so bear that in mind.
However, the good news is that we don’t have to wait too much longer to find out whether this leak is on the money. Apple is expected to announce four new iPhones next month. It’s also likely that at least two new Apple Watches will be unveiled, too.
