Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, a small but important update for Mac users. The update arrives just over a week after the release of macOS Tahoe 26.6 and mainly focuses on improving system security rather than adding new features.
Mac users can install the latest update by opening System Settings and going to Software Update. As with most security releases, Apple recommends installing it as soon as possible to help keep your Mac protected.
According to Apple, macOS Tahoe 26.6.1 fixes a security vulnerability related to Screen Sharing.
The flaw could have allowed an attacker to authenticate to Screen Sharing without using valid login credentials under certain conditions. Apple says it resolved the issue by improving the system’s state management, helping prevent unauthorized access.
Alongside macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, Apple has also released macOS Sonoma 14.8.9 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.9. Both updates include the same security fix, ensuring users on older supported versions of macOS receive the protection as well.
While this update does not introduce any new features or design changes, it is an important release for anyone using a Mac. Installing the latest software helps protect your device from security threats and ensures your system remains stable and secure.
