Apple Releases iOS 26.5 Beta 2 And iPadOS 26.5 Beta 2

Apple has just released for download iOS 26.5 beta 2 and iPadOS 26.5 beta 2 to developers registered on Apple Developer Program portal.

The aforementioned beta 2 release comes two weeks after initial seed of v26.5.

As for what’s new, generally in iOS 26.5, the upcoming new Siri capabilities are not yet included, suggesting any ‌Siri‌ updates are being held until iOS 27. The Apple Maps app though has a Suggested Places feature for recommending locations to visit nearby based on trends and recent searches, plus Apple is laying the groundwork for ads in the Apple Maps app.

Furthermore, Apple continues testing on end-to-end encryption for RCS messages sent between iPhone and Android users, as well as proper support for third-party wearables connectivity with iPhone in EU region.

If you’re a developer with Apple Developer Program portal, head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device and grab the OTA update from there. Alternatively, you can download IPSW files from developer.apple.com and installing it via Finder on Mac or iTunes on Windows.

Apple is expected to release public beta 2 of iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 later in the week.
