Apple Maps Is Getting A New F1 Monaco Grand Prix Circuit 3D Update

Ahead of the premiere of the new Apple TV+ F1 movie, starring Brad Pitt, Apple has detailed a new Maps update that will allow users to explore a real Formula One circuit in 3D.

The new update, CNET reports, will be live today and includes a 3D version of the Monaco circuit ahead of the May 23-25 GP.

The update will be available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users with Apple Maps set to gain a new Detailed City Experience, the report explains.

That includes more detailed 3D renderings of landmarks such as the Casino de Monte-Carlo and Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, with day and night-lit versions. More significantly, the race course itself will be marked on the map in light red to give you an idea of how this storied race winds directly through the streets and buildings of Monte Carlo.

Other additions as a result of this update include road markings and bike lanes, and Apple has reportedly added a number of F1 race cars throughout the new map.

Whether fans are there in person or watching from afar, the beautifully designed Detailed City Experience and Monaco Grand Prix features give them an incredible view into Monaco, just in time for the race and the upcoming premiere of F1 The Movie,” Eddy Cue, Apple senior vice president of services, reportedly said.
