Apple Could Soon Release iOS 26.3.1 For iPhone

Apple may be working on its next big iPhone software update in the form of iOS 26.4, but the company could be set to release iOS 26.3.1 sooner.

According to a 9to5Mac report, Apple is currently testing iOS 26.3.1 internally with the update aimed at fixing bugs rather than adding any new features.

The fact that it appears to be in testing and could launch imminently suggests that Apple wants to get those bug fixes onto iPhones as soon as possible, with 9to5Mac reporting that it is already seeing the software in its visitor logs.

“Typically when we see evidence of a minor new iOS build in internal visitor logs, the update ships within a week or two,” the report adds, suggesting the release of the update may be just around the corner.

It’s also possible that the new update is in some way related to the new devices that Apple is expected to announce next month. The company is likely to unveil at least one new Mac while there is also the suggestion that a new iPad could be in the offing. The iPhone 17e is also a possible announcement for Apple.

Just as iOS 26.2.1 added support for AirTag 2, perhaps iOS 26.3.1 will do the same for the iPhone 17e. Compatibility with new devices, along with the usual bug fixes and security improvements, sounds about right for a minor update.

If this is true, we can definitely expect Apple to release the new updates around the same time that the new products officially go on sale.
