Apple Intelligence might not be doing that well amid delays and disappointed users, but a new report suggests that AI features could be coming to Xcode thanks to a deal with Anthropic.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working with Anthropic on a new “vibe-coding” software platform that will use AI to write and test code for developers.

Gurman says that a new version of Xcode will include Anthropic technology.
The system is a new version of Xcode, Apple’s programming software, that will integrate Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet model, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Apple will roll out the software internally and hasn’t yet decided whether to launch it publicly, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the initiative hasn’t been announced.
It’s reported that Apple is currently rolling out the new Xcode internally, but it’s as-yet unclear whether it will be released to the public. Gurman reports that developers will be able to use a chat-based interface to interact with the new Xcode, although Anthropic has so far declined to comment.

It’s possible that Apple could announce something about a new Xcode at its annual WWDC event in June, but time will tell. The WWDC event is the company’s developer-focused event which makes it the perfect time to unveil such an updated Xcode.
